[gallery ids="1379"] Denim Wear & Care is a new segment to the Tate + Yoko blog in which we will address the many questions regarding care and repair for your raw denim. The ever popular question of “How should I wash my raw denim” is will forever be a topic of discussion. As you may or may not know, there are no set rules, no one definitive way to wash your jeans. One question that has been asked of us several times of us is the benefits of an Ocean Soak. Recently Bahzad of Naked & Famous Denim took a pair of Dirty Fade’s with him into the pacific while he was in Huntington beach. His recipe? A 10 minute soak followed by a wet sand rub down to gently abrade the denim, another final soak to clean off the sand, and then hung out in the sun to dry. An Ocean Soak will provide more colors loss than a typical bath soak. The salt water along with the gentle sand abrasion, brightening up the overall color of the jeans a few shades, especially in the contrasting creases. Check out the results in Mondays Fade Gallery.
