The Naked & Famous Denim MIJ3 is the latest addition to the ultra-premium Made in Japan series of jeans. This Spring Summer 2016 model is made from a 16oz Rope Dyed Japanese Selvedge Denim produced from recycled cotton. The recycled cotton is sourced from the waste material of the cotton spinning process. During the cotton spinning process the lightest and airiest cotton fibers are flung into the air, and collected to be re-spun into recycled cotton. The resulting recycled cotton yarn wears down easy to a soft hand feel. An indigo greencast dye is used to create the color which will fade to aqua blue tones as the jeans are worn. The denim itself has a bumpy uneven texture produced by slow weaving the fabric using irregular sized cotton nep yarns. The Tempi wash treatment helped to preserve the natural texture and rigidity of the fabric as opposed to using a mechanical preshrinking method that would otherwise flatten the fabric.

Design details include, 100% iron buttons, 100% copper rivets, hidden back pocket rivets, raised belt loops, Union Special chain stitched hems, narrow selvedge busted seam, natural vegetable tanned leather patch and signature maple leaf pocket embroidery. Artwork and logos have been refreshed by famed comic book artist Alvin Lee. Known for his work with various comic book and video game studios, Alvin lends his talents to re-imagine the classic Naked & Famous Denim tragic blond logo in a new Japanese manga-style. The new MIJ3 is limited to a production run of 500 units, but we only got a small fraction of that run. We took as many as we could get our hands on, so once sold out, it is sold out forever.
