Focus: Naked & Famous Denim Colored Wefts
The weft is an important part of the Tate + Yoko equation because it literally represents half of our beloved denim fabric and half of our name. "Tate" means "warp" and Yoko means "weft" in Japanese. A piece of fabric is made of two yarns: the warp and weft. The warp, which is the vertical yarn, and weft, which is the horizontal yarn, are woven together to create a fabric. Changing the color of the weft is a great way to add variety to your jeans and Naked & Famous Denim does a great job in giving many options to choose from. This season there are three options for different wefts with the 11oz Stretch Selvedge with Black Weft, Black x Red Stretch Selvedge, and Indigo Power Stretch with Grey Fill.
The 11oz Stretch Selvedge with Black Weft changes the complexion and feel of the hit SS16 11oz Stretch Selvedge to fit the FW16 theme with a black weft to produce a darker tone. The combination will produce a higher contrast fade with the indigo warp yarn fading to white while the black weft yarn slowly fades. You can show off the black weft by cuffing the jeans to show off the black weft and the red line selvedge.
The 11oz Stretch Selvedge with Black Weft is available in the Super Skinny Guy, Weird Guy, Easy Guy and Women's The Boyfriend, The High Skinny, and The Skinny.
Naked & Famous Denim re-introduces the popular Red Weft with a new black variation in the warp yarn to make the Black x Red Stretch Selvedge. The black warp will give it a darker tone for the Fall/Winter seasons. The jeans will not fade red, but the red weft means they can be seen through the twill to produce an overall red cast and they will look great with a cuff. There's a custom red leather Naked & Famous Denim patch with a black overdye to complete the look. These jeans combine the quality and uniqueness of selvedge denim with the comfort of stretch.
The Black x Red Stretch Selvedge is available in the Stacked Guy, Super Skinny Guy, and Weird Guy and Women's The Boyfriend and The Skinny.
The Indigo Power Stretch with Grey Fill is another fabric revival for the ever-popular Power Stretch base. The Grey Fill is essentially a grey weft and it gives us a Fall/Winter appropriate look and feel with an overall darker tone. The Power Stretch base is known for its comfort and legendary elastic recovery, meaning the jeans will recover a portion of its original size when unworn. This is a must-have for those wanting to add to their Power Stretch lineup.
The Indigo Power Stretch with Grey Fill is only available in the Super Skinny Guy.
