Firewall Selvedge
What appears to be a standard indigo x black Japanese selvedge denim is anything but beneath the surface. The weft is made from a spun carbon blend, created through a special process of firing and carbonizing acrylic fibers. Firefighters wear this material because of its incredible tolerance for heat and flame. (But cotton burns, so don’t light it on fire). Weighing in at 13.5 oz, the Firewall Selvedge makes for a great all-season fabric. The black mil-spec non-reflective buttons and rivets create a flat inky blue-black tone in the raw state but will enhance the fade contrast in time, as the indigo yarns fade to white.
